Fatal L-410 Crash in Lukla (Nepal)

Lukla has seen another fatal crash. A Let L-410 (9N-AMH) veered off the runway and collided with 2 parked helicopters upon takeoff from Lukla. The flight's first officer as well as 2 people on the ground were killed in the accident.

L410 cockpits are tight with very little room to move so any intrusion is going to harm the pilots. There looks to have been no fire, which is very fortunate for the survivors - it's not an aircraft you want to bail out of in a hurry either.

That's going to have a profound impact on the local communities around there too, I don't imagine getting replacement helicopters is easy in those parts.
