At work we had a divvying-up of overseas commitments for the later part of the year and I was absent so was left with the choice of two destinations - Dallas or Kigali. So...

November
MAN-AMS KL73G (does change to 738 if demand dictates)
AMS-KGL KL A333
+ Identical return

The AMS-KGL leg does stop at JRO if demand dictates, so that could be fun.
A million great ideas...

Quick OUL-HEL at the end of August, which may yet turn into an OUL-HEL-something if a great last-minute deal comes up.

For a meeting in Trieste in September, with a pre-meeting in the UK:

OUL-HEL-LHR, AY - no A350 this time. {grumpy}
L**-VCE, BA (still wrangling with the travel agent over LHR, LCY, LGW)

October may well see an OUL-HEL-MAN, possibly via LHR.

Finnair Plus Gold (oneworld Sapphire) should be in the bag this year.

Minor change of plans:

30Nov HAM-AMS, KL 737
30Nov AMS-ORD, KL 74E

03Dec ORD-AMS, KL 74E
04Dec AMS-HAM, KL 737

Got KL on Y+ for a better rate than FI in standard Y. And my friend who will fly with my has never been on a 747 before.

For me, it will be 747 flights #4 and #5 this year - 4*74E + 1*748. Gotta fly the Queen while she's still around. 8)

Told my Italian colleague I'm flying into VCE. He laughed. {boxed}

The true Queen retired 15 years ago. Now let's have a pointless flame war about prestigious runways. {duck}

Well it's been a pretty busy year for flying around the world for me - ramped up somewhat since I took on the new job late last year.

But September is going to take things to a whole new level. Between now and the end of the month I have the following flights to take, all for work, beginning this sunday. As follows:

LGW-LIS TP
LIS-REC HIFLY
REC-MCZ AZUL
MCZ-REC AZUL
REC-AJU AZUL
AJU-REC AZUL
REC-BSB TBC
BSB-CGH TBC
GRU-LIS TP
LIS-LGW TP
LGW-HKG CX
HKG-SIN CX
SIN-HKG CX
HKG-LGW CX
LHR-JFK BA
JFK-BNA AA
BNA-LHR BA

It means a mix of A350s and 787s, A330/340s and 747s, A320s and 737s, E-Jets and ATRs. And just the four continents.... {crazy}

October will mostly be spent sleeping.

In the last few days I was flying quite a bit:

Pegasus Airlines Turkey
VIE-SAW-FRU
Pegasus Airlines Asia/Air Manas (currently still blacklisted within EU)
FRU-OSS 24 EUR (sponsored by Kyrgyz Government)
Uzbekistan Airways B752
AZN (Andijan, Usbekistan)-TAS 17 EUR (sponsored by Usbekistan Government)
Tajik Air B752
KJU (Khujand, Tajikistan)-DYU 25 EUR (sponsored by Tajikistan Government)
Somon Air B739 (one of the best flights I ever had in my life, simply perfect)
DYU-DXB
On Saturday I will fly back home with
W6
DWC-KTW
Non vitae sed scholae discimus

Looks like I'll be flying home for Christmas. I normally make the trip by car since it's close enough to make the time spent traveling worth the monetary savings. I couldn't get the extra time off from work, so flying will give me the extra time I want with family and keep me off the roads.

WN: DEN-ABQ-DEN

Ponied up for Business Select due to the anticipated travel volumes. Otherwise, I'd have just gone with the Wanna Get Away fare for such a short hop. Refundability was a plus too.

Wow, Malta looks heavenly from the photos and videos I've seen from there! They shot some of the scenes from "Count of Monte Cristo" there, and it must be jaw-dropping to see in person!

On another note, how is it that 2018 will be over so soon? Time really does fly!

November sees me with a couple of work trips at short notice - Miami and Hamburg (I guess I just need Oulu for the full set!)

Miami is VS A330s both ways
Hamburg is BA A320s both ways

I'm hoping that's it for the year - but we'll see....

Final trip of the year....

07-Dec SZX-CXR on HU 738
17-Dec CXR-SZX on HU 738

In J for baggage reasons and will mean schlepping between HKG and Shenzhen (and vice versa) but no direct flights out of HKG on the days we want to travel (and even then its on HKG's least reliable budget carrier! {yuck} {yuck} {yuck} )

Will be interesting to see what's left of the old Cam Ranh air base.
Lovin' the smell of avgas in the morning....
