More than £300m is to be invested in training and defensive equipment linked to the introduction of the RAF's new transport fleet, it has been announced.

The MoD is buying 22 A400M Atlas transport aircraft to replace the RAF's fleet of C-130 Hercules planes, with the first aircraft set to enter service in late 2014.

Think of the A400M as the middle, sandwiched by a C-130 and a C-17.
And let's get one thing straight. There's a big difference between a pilot and an aviator. One is a technician; the other is an artist in love with flight. — E. B. Jeppesen

No, but I don't recall a C-17 ever being called a Herc.

{check} Pretty much bang on half-way between the two. The quoted max payload is 39.5 tonnes, exactly double the C130J and just over half the C17's 79 tonnes.

...which would make it a third of the way between the two, if we're being pedantic instead of logarithmic :))
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:
For it is the number of a man; and its number is One hundred threescore and twelve.
